Brioche Scarf

Day Workshop

This full day workshop will revisit basic brioche knitting techniques, before introducing the different brioche increases and decreases needed to make this delightful and fully reversible scarf.

The pattern is available online to be downloaded ahead of the workshop, for an additional cost of roughly £5, and participants will need to provide their own yarn and needles. I will send the link to the pattern to all participants once they have booked.

Knitting Experience: Advanced. This workshop is suitable for experienced knitters; some previous working knowledge of brioche knitting is necessary.

As this is a full-day workshop, there’s the option of a light lunch. After adding the workshop to your basket, go to basket and you will see the Lunch option beneath; just click to add. Those opting for lunch will be contacted before the event for details of any specific dietary requirements. Participants can, of course, choose to bring their own lunch if preferred. Drinks and refreshments are provided and included in the cost of the workshop.

Materials: You will need to supply your own yarn and needles for this project and purchase the pattern online. The link to the pattern will be emailed out a few days after booking. The yarn used is a 4ply thickness, and you will need 670 (760, 850) yards to knit a 66 (76, 86)” scarf approximately 8” wide, or a smaller amount if you would prefer a cowl. The project is knitted on a  pair of 4mm single-pointed knitting needles, so please bring these with you if you already have them; stitch markers and a fine wool needle would also be useful.
